PBMS is a customized system for Malaysia Pepper Board to manage their pepper and seedling’s data. The main purpose of this system is aiding the users in MPB to manage their pepper breeding and analyzation of the growing process of the pepper. This system is containing 3 main user roles which are admin, staff, and officer.

Admin user’s main scope is to setup and manage the pepper data that are required by the system. First, admin shall determine templates which includes the relevant data such as species name, variety names, trait’s, seedling and germplasm data in order to be utilised as a creation of new project where the data in the templates shall be collected in accordance. Furthermore, admin also can view the data analysis graph for germplasm and seedling.

As mentioned above, after the templates had been setup by admin, staff will collect the germplasm and seedling data in mobile platform. Staff need to go to the field for where the germplasm or seedling is planted, and each of these peppers are labelled with the QR Code. Staff need to use the tablet which is already pre-installed with the PBMS mobile app to scan the QR Code on the pepper that they want to collect, and the app will show the pepper details. Furthermore, the app also will display a trait collection form for staff to fill in the data for that pepper plant. Once the form is filled and submitted, officer will be able to view the trait data.

Officer user will be managing the trait collection data and generate germplasm crossing based on the data collected by staff. Officer able to view the trait collection data for peppers where officer can generate crossing by selecting few germplasms based on the trait data analysis. The generated Crossing can be saved in the system and it can be plant in accordance in future at their own will.
